Glenda Baker Whitehead, LCSW, LSCSW is committed to helping others face their challenges with unconditional acceptance and respect in a warm, inviting environment.  From Glenda’s early years in foster homes culminating in being adopted, Glenda readily understands the challenges one must face and how to change these experiences into a life well lived. “I believe that negative experiences in our life can create many issues, both physical and emotional, that then cause us to struggle in our lives.  Once we learn to process through these experiences, we can live a more happy, healthy and productive life.”  - Glenda Baker Whitehead With a Master of Social Work from the University of Kansas and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Glenda is a licensed clinician in Missouri and Kansas.  She has experience as a group facilitator for positive parenting groups, socialization and ADHD groups in the elementary schools and is a certified Batterer’s Intervention Facilitator. Glenda has advised local community agencies, taught volunteers, became a court advocate and was the acting director for a domestic violence shelter. She has also been a Parent Educator, a community educator, and a mental health clinician for area Early Head Start and Head Start schools.  She has been a therapist with The Family Conservancy; Dietchman, Leavell and Associates, LLC; and Great Circle.  She launched her private practice in Independence, Missouri in 2013. Glenda is a lifelong learner who is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), TF-CBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Body-Centered Gestalt Therapy and Play Therapy.  She graduated from the Integrative Psychotherapy Training Program of Kansas City and continues to take additional trainings to enhance her skills. Glenda Baker Whitehead is dedicated to her clients and believes that everyone has the capacity to make the changes they want to make to live a better life. The possibilities are truly endless.
